International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend, 2004

Following a visit to GB2PBL last year by Charles, G4VSZ, we were pleased to welcome guests from the Bredhurst Receiving and Transmitting Society (BRATS), who kindly came along for the lighthouse weekend this year to lend their field day expertise and to help with equipment and operating during the event. Here are just a few photos from the weekend, more will follow:

Neil and Charles manning the visitor centre station.
As well as ‘phone, modes used included PSK31 and
‘real’ RTTY, thanks to Charles’ vintage Creed 7B Teletype
(just visible to the left of Charles’ head).

Russell beavering away in the day room on Sunday.
A total of 32 countries were contacted by his station alone.

A (slightly breezy) BBQ was held on Saturday evening
in the lighthouse garden. Charles presented us with a
(home made) ceramic lighthouse model.

Our guests from BRATS:
Charles G4VSZ, Jean G1DLL,
